About Rebecca
I work with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, sadness, relationship difficulties, or just feeling "stuck" in their lives in some way. My work is collaborative and compassionate, working towards reducing current stressors and examining long-standing patterns.
My style is collaborative open minded, and genuine. I take an active role in understanding clients issues, participating in the discussion, and practicing reflective listening. My therapeutic approach is relational, and humanistic.
If needed, I can work closely with primary care providers and psychiatrists to evaluate client needs. If a medication evaluation is desired, I will assist clients in finding appropriate providers to coordinate medication management.
I am an experienced psychotherapist licensed by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Allied Mental Health and Human Services Board, with a specialization in Mental Health counseling. As part of my licensure requirements I adhere to the laws and regulations of the State Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Service Professions. I also participate in ongoing professional study and development in order to maintain my license. As a Mental Health Counselor I practice according to nationally mandated Standards of Practice that include:
A Code of Professional Ethics
Standards for Education & Training
Standards for Professional Conduct of Practice
Standards for Licensure and Certification
I received my Master's Degree from the Department of Applied Psychology at Antioch University New England in 2005, and have been working in the field of Mental Health since 2003. During these years I have worked in multiple outpatient clinics serving local communities of all ages and backgrounds before starting my private practice in 2007.
